A Week at PGA Tour Academy Golf Camp by Amelia Kiewitt

A Week at PGA Tour Academy Golf Camp by Amelia Kiewitt I recently won a week at the PGA Players golf camp at the World Golf Village. I have to admit I was really nervous to go and didn't know what to expect. I really felt like I wasn't going to be any good and I would feel intimidated.
Well, the first day came and went and I left camp not being able to wait til the next day! We toured the Hall of Fame, we played the 18 hole miniature golf and really just got to know our Coach, Wes Owens and the other campers I was with. There were 7 of us and I have to say within two days we felt like we had known each other forever. Coach Wes made us all feel important and comfortable.
We had a video taken of our swing at the beginning of the week and then again at the end of the week so we could see our improvement (hopefully!) Each day we learned how to stretch out and then worked on something new each day. In the afternoon we went out on the course and split into two teams. We played scramble each day which was really fun.
I think the best thing I took away from the camp was the friendships we made while we were there. It was the best group ever and we want to get together again next year so we can be together again.
